If you want to automate your agency but have no idea what to focus on, start with this.
Think about the core thing that drives your business forward.
It should be the thing that, when your agency stops doing it, the business starts to struggle.
What is that thing for your agency?
If you have trouble figuring it out, this tip can help.
It’s usually the function of the CEO or the employees with the highest salaries.
Remember – it’s not about the person, but about the outputs.
Here is a little exercise:
- Write down the six most important activities that your agency does.
- Scratch off the three least important activities from the list. For this exercise, imagine you don’t need to do them to run the business.
- Now, eliminate one of the three activities left. It can get challenging here, but one of them should feel less important than the other two.
- You should be left with two activities. Instead of discarding one, choose the one that feels most important for the success of your agency.
You should end up with the most important activity (MIA) of your agency.
Back to automation.
Think about the people at your company who are responsible for the MIA.
What could you do (and automate) to free up their time so they can focus on the MIA more?
